PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper stay capable of stably and surely absorbing much impact energy in collision. SOLUTION: This bumper stay 10 comprises a body 11, which is made from an aluminum alloy extruded structural angle having a specified length and a hollow section 16 and arranged between a bumper 1 and a frame 6 such that the extrusion direction and the longitudinal direction of a car body intersect each other orthogonally, and a rectangular parallelepiped 21 arranged along the longitudinal direction of the car body in the hollow section 16 of the body 11 and having a hollow section 22, and includes a damping body 20 for absorbing energy by performing buckling-deformation into a bellows-like shape along the longitudinal direction of the car body.
