PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yellow dye which is excellent in heat resistance and acid resistance, and to provide a drink or a food product using the yellow dye. SOLUTION: The yellow dye is extracted from one or more selected from madder (Rubia tinctorum) root, a tissue-culture cell of madder and a cultured capillary root of madder with water or a water-containing alcohol and thereafter is subjected to purification treatment so as to adjust the content of a ruberythric acid and/ or lucidin-3-primeveroside to 70% or more. The drink and the food product use the yellow dye. |
