PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment composition containing aβ-form copper phthalocyanine pigment whose crystal growth is inhibited and which has a clear tone of green, excellent coloring power, and excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The pigment composition comprises aβ-form copper phthalocyanine pigment (A) and a quadrangular pyramid-structured metal phthalocyanine (B). Alternatively, the pigment composition comprises a copper phthalocyanine semi-crude (C) and the quadrangular pyramid-structured metal phthalocyanine (B) or a copper phthalocyanine crude (D) and the quadrangular pyramid-structured metal phthalocyanine (B). The crystal growth of theβ-form copper phthalocyanine molecule is appropriately inhibited by the quadrangular pyramid-structured metal phthalocyanine (B). Further, a pigment composition having superior performance as the pigment can be obtained by conducting at least the pigment making step of obtaining theβ-form copper phthalocyanine pigment (A) in the presence of the quadrangular pyramid-structured metal phthalocyanine (B) in manufacturing theβ-form copper phthalocyanine pigment.
