METHOD FOR CULTURING NON-NUCLEATED PEARL USING PEARL SHELL AS MOTHER-OF-PEARL

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for culturing non-nucleated pearl using pearl shell as a mother-of-pearl, which can increase surviving rate of a pearl shell and is applicable to baby-of-pearl to produce a high quality non-nucleated pearl having a thick pearl layer. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of (i) cutting cell pieces the pallial membrane of a pearl shell into pieces having a micro size, (ii) perforating a shell near genitals of another pearl shell(1) to be used as a mother-of-pearl, (iii) cutting a certain part of the genitals of the pearl shell(1), (iv) inserting the cell pieces of pallial membrane into the genitals, (v) sealing the perforation with an aqueous bond, (vi) stabilizing the pearl shell(1), and (vii) allowing the pearl shell(1) to produce a pearl using the inserted cell pieces of the pearl shell.
