PURPOSE: An electronic map system for supplying local business section information is provided to display a store which sells user-designated items only when the business section located in a specific administrative district is displayed. CONSTITUTION: An electronic map DB stores business section information. A homepage supplying server keeps a publicizing homepage of each store being supplied to a client. An information supplying server stores detail information and an event with respect to items treated by each store. A web server system supplies requesting data of the client. In addition, a client system requesting an information supply and an Internet communication network are provided. The electronic map DB includes a position and an URL of a store, events and detail information on an image displaying geographical features and may modify or append the items. The web server supplies the electronic map DB to the client system based on data requested from the client. If the client system requests detail information of a specific store or company out of the electronic map DB, the web server connects the corresponding homepage supplying server to the client based on the URL and detail information being stored in the electronic map DB.
