The device for determining a shoe inner size fits into a shoe and has a heel probe part (1,3) and a shoe point probe part (5,6). The distance between the two probe parts is adjustable so that the device matches a predetermined foot length. At least the heel probe part and/or the shoe point probe part provides an excess in at least one dimension so that a given foot length on the device correctly inserted in a shoe is only adjustable and/or the device is only correctly insertable in a shoe when the shoe inner space has at least the foot length and the excess dimension. The first excess is an additional length in the inner space of a shoe and the shoe point probe part additionally has a raised formation (2), so that the shoe point probe part is only introducible so far in the direction of the shoe point as the shoe has a minimum height determined by the raised formation.
