PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method capable of regenerating a medium containing an organohalogen compound in a short process without carrying out troublesome waste-water disposal simplifying treating facility, suppressing treating expense and effectively re-utilizing an alkali component in a method for treatment of organohalogen compound, etc., using an alkali metal, etc. SOLUTION: This method is characterized by: (1) capability of carrying out after treatment after decomposition in a short step without using large scale discharge treatment facility by integrating a step using water in order to remove an alkali metal halide and an excess alkali metal, etc., and recovering water from the resultant alkaline discharge, (2) capability of removing highly polar component by washing a medium with an alkali having certain concentration or above and (3) capability of re-utilizing the alkali component to other step in good operability by controlling concentrated concentration in a concentrating step of alkaline water discharge.
