PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail of a passenger conveyor capable of distributing the stress generated when the moving handrail is bent in the longitudinal direction, and improving the safety and the durability thereof. SOLUTION: A canvas layer 2 comprises a first canvas 1a arranged on a back part 5 and a side part 6, and a second canvas 1b arranged only on the back part 5. The width of the second canvas 1b is set to be larger than the width A of an opening part 8 between ears 7, and smaller than the inner width B, and a tensile layer 4 is arranged as close as possible to the first canvas 1a. The stress for deforming the side part 6 of the handrail is reduced, and most of the stress can be received by the tensile layer 4.
