PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a handle is moved at an intermediate position without relating to a using position for using the handle and a storing position without using the handle, although the handle can be regulated to the two positions by forming the rotation of a handle lever relative to a pivotally supporting shaft so as to be operated within a range of about 90 deg. by a cut-out part formed on the handle lever and a projection protruded on the pivotally supporting shaft. SOLUTION: In a handle position converting device for a reel for long wires 10A and 10B for mutually converting handles 20A and 20A to be used when a long wire 12 is wound or unwound on the long wires 10A and 10B between the handle using position and the handle storing position, the handles 20A and 20B are fixed to the handle using position by engaging both of locking holes 21Ac and 21Bf and locking projections 22Ac and 29 with each other in a state of a compressed spring 23 and the engagement is separated by rotating the handles 20A and 20B after the spring 23 is further compressed from the state.
