PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to handle A-3 paper and shorten a time for carrying more frequent A-4 paper for achieving a short handling time without the deterioration of carrying performance. SOLUTION: A carrying roller up to a paper feeding roller and a resist roller is driven by an independent speed-adjustable motor. The rotating speed of the motor is changed depending on the sizes of paper for handling the peripheral speeds of these rollers, so that it is a certain speed higher than the peripheral speed of the resist roller. The increase in the speed is smaller for the A-3 paper and larger for the A-4 paper, thus improving the handling speed of the more frequent A-4 paper.
