PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new chloroprene polymer having a composition ratio of microstructure different from that of a conventional chloroprene polymer and to provide a new method for producing the chloroprene-based polymer using a half metallocene catalyst. SOLUTION: This chloroprene-based polymer has >=8 mol% existence ratio of cis 1,4-structure. This new method for producing the chloroprene-based polymer is carried out by a half metallocene catalyst of a specific structure.
