PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag inflator suitable for reducting manufacturing cost or reducing weight. SOLUTION: This inflator 1 is provided with a long cylindrical body 3. A disk-like partition 5 is provided in the body 3. The interior of the body 3 is partitioned into a large-capacity left combustion chamber G1 and a small- capacity right combustion chamber G2 by the partition 5. A part of the body 3 that corresponds to (clamp) the outer peripheral part of the partition 5 is subjected to diameter reducing (crimp), thereby forming reduced diameter valley parts 3a in two portions clamping the partition 5. A ring-shaped groove 5a is formed in both side surfaces of the outer peripheral vicinity part of the partition 5 by coining. Accordingly, the outer periphery of the partition 5 closely adheres to the inner peripheral surface of the enlarged diameter body 3.
