PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slip issuing system in which information can be stringed conveniently and correctly. SOLUTION: When a printer 20 issues a slip 1 while printing information thereon, a number inherent to that information is printed simultaneously on the slip by an optical recognition code. An optical recognition code printed previously on the slip is read out by means of an optical reader 14 disposed just behind the print section of the printer 20 and the printed optical recognition code is also read out thus stringing the optical recognition code printed previously and information printed at the time of issuing the slip. Since the optical reader 14 is disposed just behind the print section of the printer 20, a slip number of a slip other than that printed and issued at the print section and the information of a issued slip are not stringed while being matched.
