PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of well carrying a continuous recording object such as paper or a sheeted plastic film. SOLUTION: The image recording device for recording two-color images on both sides of the continuous recording object 1 comprises carrying rollers 71, 72, 73, 74 for carrying the recording object 1, restricting means 8 for restricting the crosswise position of the recording object 1, a tension control part 2 for giving tension to the recording object 1, image recording means 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d having a toner carrier for transferring an toner image formed on the surface of the toner carrier to the recording object 1, and fixing means 5 for fixing the toner image transferred to the recording object 1. Tension control is carried out by the tension control part 2 having a dancer roller 20 supported on a movable arm 21, wherein a load imposing point and a point of detecting the displacement of the dancer roller 20 are set at the outside of a dancer roller supporting point with respect to a supporting point of the arm 21.
