PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concentrate metal ions contained in a waste liquid, to reduce the amount of a harmful waste material and to efficiently and easily recover high price and useful metals by inexpensively and advantageously treating the waste liquid discharged from a semiconductor production process, a liquid crystal production process or the like, containing metal ions in low concentrations without using a large scale treating equipment or the like. SOLUTION: The waste liquid containing the metal ions is separated by using a ceramic membrane and then a concentrated liquid containing concentrated metal ions is recovered.
