PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small thermal head whereby a recording medium can be stably conveyed in both of front and rear directions without harming the recording medium. SOLUTION: This thermal head is so constituted that multiple heating resistors 2 arranged in a main scanning direction and a plurality of driver ICs 4 each having an electric circuit for controlling the heating of the heating resistors 2 provided to the lower face thereof are attached to a substrate 1 to be arranged in parallel and the lower face of each driver IC 4 is sealed by a resin material 6. The recording medium M is conveyed from a portion on the driver ICs 4 to a portion on the heating resistors 2 and the heating resistors 2 are selectively heated to form an image. A part of the resin material 6 is extended to a corner formed by the side face of the driver IC 4 at the side of the heating resistor 2 and the upper face of the substrate 1 along the main scanning direction in a band shape and the surface of the extended section is formed in a convex having an apex made by the upper face corner section of the driver IC 4.
