PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic/prophylactic agent for allergic diseases free from any side effects, highly safe even if taken continuously for a long period and usable in daily necessities including foods/drinks and cosmetics. SOLUTION: The subject antiallergic agent, or an anti-inflammatory agent, oral antiallergic agent or oral anti-inflammatory agent, is characterized by comprising, as an active ingredient, at least one kind of polyphenol selected from strictinin and methylated derivatives thereof. The 2nd objective foods/ drinks contain the above antiallergic agent, anti-inflammatory agent, oral antiallergic agent or oral anti-inflammatory agent. The 3rd objective method for formulating foods/drinks with the above antiallergic agent, anti-inflammatory agent, oral antiallergic agent or oral anti-inflammatory agent in order to preventing, inhibiting or mitigating allergic or inflammatory symptoms is provided. The 4th objective cosmetics contain an antiallergic agent for external use or anti-inflammatory agent for external use characterized by comprising, as the active ingredient, at least one kind of polyphenol selected from strictinin and methylated derivatives thereof. |
