PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation system to which a cogeneration facilities are incidental. SOLUTION: This organic waste treating system is provided with a methane fermentation equipment having a methane fermentation tank for treating organic waste in an anaerobic atmosphere with methanogen and a heating tank for keeping the inside of the methane fermentation tank at >=60 deg.C, a mechanism furnished with a cogeneration equipment and circulating a medium discharged from the cogeneration equipment and having waste heat at >=60 deg.C through the heating tank to keep the methane fermentation tank at a temperature suitable for methane fermentation, a mechanism for supplying the organic waste into the fermentation equipment and a mechanism for supplying the methane generated in the methane fermentation tank to the cogeneration equipment.
