The support and guide device is for a sliding door, especially in a building. A guide rail (3a) is fixed to the ceiling or a lintel beam and has two troughs (4,5). The first trough nearest to the web of the beam accommodates wheels (17,18) attached to brackets (12a-13b) fastened by screws (B1-3) to the two outer sliding door panels (6a-b). An M-shaped lower guide rail (3b) is fastened to a lower sill and sliders (15) move along the two downward-facing grooves (10,11) in the M-shape. The centre door panel (7) is hung from a central support frame (14) with two wheels (19) which run in the second trough in the top guide rail. There are connecting beams (22a,b) which carry smaller wheels (20a,b). |
