Support plate and method for the carrying out of functional tests

Microtiter plate (10) for carrying out tests on biological cells (23) has an array of projections (25) which act as test sites. These have binding agents on their surfaces to which the cells can be bound. The cells cannot bind to the plate between the test sites. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for carrying out tests on biological cells using the plate; (2) a kit containing the plate; (3) a plate as above in which the test sites are not raised above the plate surface; and (4) a dosing plate with apertures which fit over the test sites, forming cavities into which samples are placed.
