PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for servicing a virtual number in order to realize a lifelong number service of a public telephone network on the Internet are provided to answer a phone with other phone number when a user is absent by connecting the virtual service number granted to the user to a number of a PSDN(Public Switched Data Network), a mobile network, an ISDN(Integrated Services Data Network), or other network. CONSTITUTION: A system linked with an Internet virtual number service apparatus for a lifelong number service includes a user terminal(10), an Internet virtual number service server(20), and a terminal(30) for an Internet virtual number service provider, and a receipt telephone(40) for the Internet virtual number service provider. The user terminal(10) comprises a program(11) for the user. The Internet virtual number service server(20) connected with the Internet is composed of a program(21) for the Internet virtual number service server and a database(22). The terminal(30) for the Internet virtual number service provider connected with the Internet includes a program(31) for the Internet virtual number service provider, a control program(32), and a VoIP(Voice over Internet protocol) gateway card(33) connected with a PSDN. The Internet virtual number service server(20) provides to the user the Internet virtual number service program for the lifelong number service so that the user connects to the Internet virtual number service for the lifelong number service through an information communication network such as the Internet. The Internet virtual number service server(20) connects the virtual Internet number granted in the Internet to a real PSDN number.
