PURPOSE: A cataplasma improved in formability, moisture holding capacity and adhesion by using a specified component as a base and adding activated carbon in a suitable ratio is provided, which has an improved cataplasma action. CONSTITUTION: The subject cataplasma comprises 2 to 10% by weight of sodium polyacrylate and a methoxy ethylene maleic acid anhydride copolymer as a base material, 1 to 2% by weight of activated carbon, and optionally kaolin in a weight ratio of kaolin to activated carbon of 60 to 80 : 20 to 40, based on the total weight of the composition.
