PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral device and a device descriptor setting method for the same, with which the peripheral devices of the same type can be easily distinguished from each other in the case of displaying a peripheral device name on a host PC when the peripheral devices of the same type are connected to the host PC. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a volatile storage device 203 having a device descriptor storage area 205 composed of an area for storing the device name and an area for storing user information and a non-volatile storage device 204 having a user information storage area 206, which is an area for storing user information, and the user information designated from a host PC 201 is stored and the device name and the user information are reported to the host PC 201 as a device descriptor. |
