ELECTRON EMITTER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical and low cost electron emitter that is useful for a display device, a fluorescent display, an illumination lamp and an electron gun or the like, and its efficient manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The electron emitter is obtained by a process which includes that a vapor grown carbon fiber 2a is dispersed in a water solution or aqueous dispersion solution in which a conductive polymer is dissolved or dispersed, and the obtained vapor grown carbon fiber 2a in the dispersion solusion 12 is transferred to the substrate 1 having a conductive surface and the above vapor grown carbon fiber 2a is deposited on the substrate 1 having a conductive surface, thereby the vapor grown carbon fiber film 2 is formed.
