PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube using a color selection electrode to which, an AG sway prevention measure can be taken, which is not restricted by resonance frequency, freely designable, and easy to take the counter measure by utilizing existing components of the color selection electrode at low cost. SOLUTION: For the color selection electrode 13 composed of a rectangular frame-shaped frame 17 and an aperture grill 14 stretched by applying tension to the frame 17, by forming hollow parts 19 at least at the part of the frame 17, or, by adding hollow material to the frame 17, oscillation control granular material 20 is filled inside the hollow parts 19 or inside the hollow material.
