PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize appropriate robustness and high control performance, and to design a type of robust servo system in a simple manner. SOLUTION: A general use plant is made of a nominal model related to the control system for the positioning device, a real number weighted function related to structural uncertainty, a frequency weighted function related to nonstructural uncertainty, and a frequency weighted function related to the control performance. For the plant an H infinitive controller is designed to maintain the H infinitive norm equal to or below than the specified value and to satisfy the robust control performance, and the controller 5 is provided to generate the operating volume by inputting the targeted position and the detected value to the H infinitive controller.
