PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satisfactory timing reproduction characteristics in a digital satellite broadcasting system where BPSK, QPSK and 8PSK signals are time-division transmitted. SOLUTION: The timing reproducing device 3 of a digital satellite broadcast receiver has A/D converters 2I and 2Q which receive signals where TMCC and burst are BPSK-modulated and a main signal is modulated by BPSK, or QPSK or 8PSK and which A/D-converts an I signal and a Q signal at prescribed sampling timing and outputs digital signals In and Qn, a digital demodulator 4, an oscillator 5 and a decoder 6. The device also has a zero-crossing judgment means 31 judging the zero-crossing point of the signal and outputting a judgment signal S31 when the In signal and the Qn signal are simultaneously encoded/ changed, an error calculating means 33 calculating the error of a sampling point by the judgment signal S31 and outputting an error signal S33 and a filter 35 outputting a phase control signal S35 based on the error signal S33. The sampling timing of the A/D converters 2I and 2Q is corrected based on the phase error. |
