PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system which can reduce uncomfortable feeling to the user when the call is over. SOLUTION: This telephone system includes a signal delay means which delays the voice signals transmitted from a communication line, a storage means which stores the voice messages previously, a cutoff detection means which detects the cutoff of the communication line and a signal selection means which relays the voice signals outputted from the signal delay means to a telephone receiver in response to non-detection of cutoff of the communication line and relays a voice message showing the end of a call that is stored in the storage means to a telephone receiver in response to detection of cutoff of the communication line.
