PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a lubricant coating applicator and to obstruct the occurrence of the coating application unevenness of a lubricant to the surface of an image carrying member of an image forming device having the lubricant coating applicator for applying a lubricant on the image carrying member formed with a toner image. SOLUTION: The solid lubricant 36 is brought into contact with pressurized contact directly with the surface of the image carrying member 2Y and this solid lubricant 36 is oscillated in the axial direction of the image carrying member 2Y, by which the lubricant is uniformly applied to the surface of the image carrying member.
