The friction damping door stop is composed of a polyamide door finger with two separate arms in which there is an elastomer spring (14). The door finger enters a metal case welded in two parts (1,2), the base of which acts as a fixing plate and has two retaining bosses and a braking surface (7). The door finger by penetrating between the lower and upper faces of the case is compressed and thus braked. A part of the spring which emerges in front of the jaws acts as a travel end stop.
