PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide simple counterlight processing of high efficiency. SOLUTION: This correction method is provided with a step for forming a luminance histogram on the basis of luminance data of an inputted image, a step for determining a correction reference luminance value of the inputted image on the basis of a luminance value of a valley part in the histogram, a step for determining a correction rate, on the basis of the correction reference luminance value of the inputted image and a correction target luminance value after correction which corresponds to the correction reference luminance value, a step for forming a lookup table for inputted image correction on the basis of the determined correction rate, and a step for correcting the inputted image on the basis of the lookup table and outputting a corrected image. As a result, counterlight processing is simply enabled with high efficiency. |
