PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmitting/receiving system capable of shortening time for observation by providing information on a displayed article without necessity for an observer close to the displayed article to perform special operation. SOLUTION: This information transmitting/receiving system has a portable information terminal for receiving and reproducing the information on the displayed article before observing the displayed article and a radio communication means for transmitting the information by detecting that the portable terminal is located within a prescribed communication range for observing the displayed articles after radio communication with the portable information terminal.
