<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for autonomously deciding a unique address by an equipment connected to a network not induplicate without the need for a server and to provide a device to execute the method. SOLUTION: In this method for deciding the address of a unit to be specified in a network that interconnects plural equipments for communication by using the Internet protocol, (a) a signal delivered on the network is received and analyzed to detect addresses of other equipment and collect them, (b) and an IP address other than the addresses collected in the (a) above is selected within the range of addresses adopted for the IP address. Furthermore, (c) whether or not the selected IP address is identical to an IP address of another unit is checked, and when they are identical, the processing in the step (b) above is repeated until the IP addresses are not identical.</p> |
