摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front panel of a plasma display panel of a discharge cell with high open area ratio. SOLUTION: On the surface of a frontal glass substrate, a transparent electrode 2 is formed and a groove 3 is curved. An L-shaped base electrode 4 is formed in such a manner that a part corresponding to a side 4a of L shape is fitted to the groove 3 and the part corresponding to other side 4b is laminated on the end part of the transparent electrode 2 in the direction of width. A transparent dielectric 5 and a protection film 6 are formed afterwards. As the width W1 of the electrode can be minimized within the range of workability by fitting the part corresponding to a side 4a of L-shaped base electrode 4 to the groove 3, compared with what it was, an open area ratio of a discharge cell can be improved without increasing the film thickness T1 and the wiring resistance of the electrode.
