PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device which easily confirms the operation state like sound recording and is easy to use and remotely controls a sound recording and reproducing device so as to eliminate erroneous operation. SOLUTION: The remote control device can perform two-way wireless communication with the sound recording and reproducing device capable of recording and reproducing sounds and includes an operation part 18 which controls the sound recording and reproducing device, a control part 17 which generates a control signal to control the operation of the sound recording and reproducing device in response to the operation of the operation part 18, a transmission/ reception part 14 which transmits the control signal to the sound recording and reproducing device and receives a sound signal from the sound recording and reproducing device and a state signal indicating the operation state of the sound recording and reproducing device, a sound reproducing part 19 which reproduces the sound signal, and switches 10 and 20 which inhibit reproducing sound data recorded in the sound recording and reproducing device during the recording operation of the sound recording and reproducing device. |
