PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer type fuel cell in which an oxygen reduction reaction over-voltage in a cathode is fully reduced, generating of flooding is fully prevented and high and stable cell output can be obtained from an early stage of starting over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The fuel cell FC has an anode 8, a cathode 5, and a polymer electrolyte membrane PEM arranged between the anode and the cathode. Furthermore, the cathode is equipped with a gas diffusion layer 4, and a catalyst layer 1 and a catalyst layer 2 which are arranged between the gas diffusion layer and the polymer electrolyte membrane. A specific resistance of a per- fluorocarbon polymer having sulfonic group contained in the catalyst layer 1 is 13 Ωcm or less, and a specific resistance of a per-fluorocarbon polymer having sulfonic group contained in the catalyst layer 2 is larger than 13 Ωcm. |
