PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert a photographed image into sepia color for a short processing time. SOLUTION: When converting an desired image into sepia color, selecting an image to be converted by operating a reproduction key (S1) and changing a color difference signal value CR of (R-Y) and a color difference signal value CB of (B-Y) to '159' and '115' respectively by a signal converting section under control of a control section (S2) displays reproduced image data after changing in a display screen by a display section (S3). Because the conversion is performed only by changing color difference signal digital values of (R-Y) and (B-Y) read from a memory, processing time is shortened, compared with a conventional case in which digital values of three primary color signals returned to the originals are changed. Since conversion to sepia color is enabled by software processing, the cost is drastically cut down.
