PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital music distribution system, in which many users can readily place orders and purchase digitally compressed music data from music distribution service contents over the Internet, without using personal computers. SOLUTION: This system utilizes a browser built-in portable telephone (e.g. i-mode terminal) 1 that is used widely nationwide in Japan, accesses the contents of a music distribution service provider 3 on the Internet 5 and orders for the desired music are placed. The payment for the download of the ordered music data and the counter value is performed at a convenience store where a multimedia terminal 4a is installed. |
