The bicycle is adapted by means of a special hub in place of its rear wheel to drive a transmission shaft turning a paddle wheel or propeller screw. The hub is turned by the bicycle pedals and chain through freewheeling cogs (1) with a derailleur, and has two driving gears (5, 6) to drive the shaft in forward and reverse rotation, depending on the position of a sliding sleeve (2) actuated by a cable (22) connected to the bicycle's rear brake, a fork (8) and disc (7) and two dog clutches (3, 4).
