PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theft prevention tag and a cover preventing the insertion of a foreign matter between the theft prevention tag and a theft prevention object. SOLUTION: A tag main body M is internally fitted by a cover C provided with a boxlike inner cover C1 whose one face is opened and an outer cover C2 like a square frame to be externally fitted by the inner cover C1. When the theft prevention tag is stored, the outer cover C2 slides to a front side to prevent protruding pins P provided protrudedly in a fringe part around an opening of the inner cover C1 from protruding from the outer cover C2, and when the theft prevention tag is used, the protruding pins P protrude from the outer cover C2 to bring the tag main body M into contact with the theft prevention object while the protruding pins P plunge into the theft prevention object.
