PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply physical and engineering meaning to the eigenvalue of a product/component including a linear or non-linear form at least, to make the concept of the eigenvalue wide so that a conventional vibration phenomenon can be included and the other transient phenomenon generated by combining a diffusion, convergence, progress and delay or the like can be expressed as well concerning a method and a device for analyzing eigenvalue, by which the eigenvalue is analyzed on the basis of the model of the product/component. SOLUTION: A function model or governing equation defined by an internal characteristic value and an internal state quantity is prepared, the eigenvalue of this function model is calculated on the basis of a characteristic equation derived from these internal characteristic value and internal state quantity, and the differentiated internal state quantity of this internal state quantity is made univocally correspondent to the eigenvalue. Besides, the eigenvalue is derived on the basis of the characteristic equation corresponding to the opening/closing operation of a switch element and on the basis of this characteristic equation, the differentiated internal state quantity is made correspondent to the eigenvalue.
