PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a picture by surely holding the color of the picture in the transmission system of a digital picture between computer picture processing systems A and B. SOLUTION: In this digital picture transmitting system, a difference between coloring functions specific to compute picture processing systems A and B is detected as color digital data according to the transmission of a reference color picture common to the both systems so that a calibration value for operating the color correction of a picture at the time of transmitting the picture can be obtained. At the time of transmitting a desired digital picture, the color correction of the digital picture grasped by the destination of transmission is operated by applying the calibration value.
