PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system capable of reducing transmission loads of high-order equipment and low-order equipment. SOLUTION: In this transmission system, the high-order equipment 10 and the low-order equipment 30 are mutually connected by a network 2, and data is collected from the low-order equipment 30 by the high-order equipment 10 by periodic polling. A polling control part 30A of the low-order equipment 30 calculates a change rate of data in itself, transmits the information related to polling collection stop to the high-order equipment 10 to stop polling collection from a high-order equipment 10 side when the data becomes unchanged, and transmits the information related to polling collection restart to the high- order equipment 10 so that the high-order equipment 10 performs polling collection again when the data is changed in the polling control part 30A itself.
