The milling tool consists of a bit (10) with a head (14) having V-shaped cutting edges (16) and a drive shank (12). The shank is fitted with a guide ring (20), able to rotate relative to it on ball (30, 31) or needle bearings, and it has a truncated conical face (22) with its angle equal to that of the cutting head. The ring is positioned axially on the shank between fixed stops (32, 33) and compensating shims (34).
