PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the suitable recording of the pit shape at a speed faster than quadruple speed such as the recording at octuple speed or twelve-fold speed. SOLUTION: The recording operation is carried out at a speed faster than quadruple speed by irradiating a write once optical disk with laser beams which are subjected to pulse emission by recording pulses setting the recording power of the nearly front end part stepwise over the plural steps while having a pulse width corresponded to the pit length to be formed.
