PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device by which coloring control is conducted for the background colors that are previously selected and set for a mask window region, which is set on a display screen, and the region other than the mask window region. SOLUTION: When specifying signals of the range of a mask window region, attribute specifying signals and color specifying signals are input set by an operating section 9, the range of the vertical direction of the region is set by a vertical display control circuit 1 and the range of the horizontal direction of the region is set by a horizontal display control circuit 2 based on the commands from an OSD control unit 8, an attribute control circuit 6 conducts attribute control such as a frame addition to the region, a color control circuit 7 conducts coloring control of the background color for at least either one of the mask window region or outside the region and a display image for various mask windows that are made effective visual wise are generated.
