PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of requiring both a voltage boosting capacitor and a voltage dividing capacitor in the conventional voltage generator which once generates a high voltage and then generates various other voltages and to eliminate the problems associated with a method using voltage dividing resistors resulting in an increased chip area and increased power consumption. SOLUTION: Plural stages of boosting circuits are provided and the output generated from each boosting circuit is directly made into an output voltage of a signal electrode driver and the increase in the chip area is suppressed and the power consumption is also reduced.
