PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission apparatus that can multiplex video signal, which are not horizontally and vertically synchronized with each other while bit synchronization is taken, and transmit the multiplexed video signal by means transmission system where word stream data including word synchronous data formed on the basis of data to be sent are subjected to 8B/10B conversion and P/S conversion and the resulting data are transmitted. SOLUTION: The multiplex processing is applied to plural digital video signals which are not horizontally and vertically synchronized with each other while bit synchronization is taken or the combination between them and a bit attached sight to obtain 1st word stream data, word synchronous data are inserted to a part of one of the digital video signals at a specific position to obtain 2nd word stream data, a P/S conversion section incorporating an 8B/10B conversion section applies 8B/10B conversion processing to the 2nd word stream data to form composite word stream data including word synchronous data after the 8B/10B conversion, and the composite word stream data are converted into serial data and the serial data are transmitted. |
