PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to disregard an encode starting instruction while receiving the encode starting instruction during the period of initialization of a MPEG encoding circuit. SOLUTION: An image transmission system which controls start and end of a compression process of a moving image data through an image receiving device 3 to an image transmission device 1. The transmission device 1 which compresses and transmits the moving image data and the receiving device 3 which receives the compressed moving image data transmitted from the transmission device 1 are connected via a network 2. The image transmission device 1 informs the receiving device 3 of the end of a necessary initialization before the starting of the moving image data compression and while the receiving device 3 remains not to send out to the transmission device 1 a control signal which controls the start and end of the compression process of the moving image data till receiving the initialization end notification from the transmission device 1. |
