PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed type battery which actuates at a low actuating pressure and in which scattering pieces are not generated from fragments. SOLUTION: In the sealed type battery equipped with a pressure release valve that cleaves due to an increase of inner pressure, along a border of thin wall part of rectangular state or long oval state having long sides and narrow sides, a groove is formed which cleaves at sides except a longer side when the inner pressure increases. A part which cleaves at the time of pressure release is installed at a bottom surface of a concave part formed at a wall surface of a battery can and which is deeper than a distance between two longer parallel sides which are rectangular state or over state. |
